THE Movement for Democratic Change formation led by Professor Welshman Ncube has fired its Member of the House of Assembly, Ms Nomalanga Mzilikazi Khumalo for "going to bed" with the other MDC formation led by Prime Minister Mr Morgan Tsvangirai.
Addressing journalists on the sidelines of a rally in Umzingwane yesterday, Prof Ncube said it was clear that Ms Khumalo has decided to go to "bed" with the MDC T and had declared herself unfit to represent his party in the next elections.
He added that his party was going to take all the necessary steps to find another ideal candidate.
"As you may have noticed, she did not come and did not bother to communicate her position to the party. To us her actions speak loud and clear that is she no longer a member of our party," said Prof Ncube.
Ms Khumalo was reportedly having a political meeting with some defected councilors at a venue not far from where the MDC rally was.
The livid law-lecturer cum politician added that it was folly for Ms Khumalo to continue using Professor Arthur Mutambara as a shield when she belongs to MDC T.
"Unfortunately she is using Mutambara as a shield when she belongs to MDC T.
"Her departure is not a painful loss to the MDC family because that is her democratic right and decision and we are waiting to decide, come election time.
"We work collectively as a team and in a team if a player gets injured you substitute him and you don't dissolve the team.
"But it's something else if a member of team A decides to play for team B. …..that is the case with MaKhumalo," said Prof Ncube.
He added that the legal implications of MaKhumalo's actions were going to follow after the completion of the Prof Mutambara legal wrangle for political power.
