A boy (17) from Old Luveve in Bulawayo caught wearing an army camouflage uniform at the Choppies Supermarket in Bulawayo was freed after the court refused further remanding him since the state seemed not yet ready to prosecute his case.
The teenager appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure charged with illegal possession of an army uniform.
He was advised that the case will proceed by way of summons.
The court was told that the boy on August 27 was at the Choppies Supermarket in the city centre when he was spotted wearing the camouflage army uniform by the police officer, Prosper Mazokera of Mzilikazi Police Station.
The police officer discovered that he was not a member of the Zimbabwe national Army and he was arrested.
