BCC sues company over $29 000 debt

The Bulawayo city Council has sued D,S and D Private Limited Company in the city over a debt amounting to $29 697,14 being arrears of rates that it was supposed to pay to the local authority from April 2009 to June 2015.
The council filed summons against the company at the Bulawayo High Court on September 20.
"The plaintiff's claim against defendant is for the payment of $29 697,14 being arrears on owners rates due to the defendant as the registered owner of a property known as stand number 13814 Depot Road Kelvin North Bulawayo within plaintiff's administrative area which arrears are from April 2009 to June 2015," reads summons.
The council also demanded 6% interests per annum from the date each amount was due to the date of full payment.
The company is still expected to respond to the summons.
