PASTOR Obert Majoni of The Revolution of St Paul Church, who is facing two counts of indecently assaulting a 12 year old girl on the pretext of praying for her, has been further remanded in custody after he told the court that he wants to engage a lawyer.

Appearing for his routine remand at the Bulawayo magistrate – Sibonginkosi Mkandla yesterday, the "sex pastor" as Majoni is now refereed to, said he needed legal representation and that he was feeling unwell.

His matter was remanded to today.

Charges against him are that he would visit the girl's parents flat in the city and also meet with other congregates for prayers.

The pastor reportedly used the bedroom of the complainant's mother as his prayer room and at times slept in the same room after prayers.

On one of the occasions, in July this year, the pastor visited the complainant's residence, where he slept in the girl's mother's bedroom sharing blankets with a domestic worker and a tenant on a mattress on the floor.

It is not clear where the girl's mother was on the first occasion. The court heard that the girl woke up from where she was sleeping in the sitting room at around 8am and proceeded to the bedroom where she wanted to leave blankets.

The man of God then called her to join him in the blankets and she complied. After that the cleric pulled her close and tried to sexually abuse her, the court heard.

She tried to wake up the tenant and maid but failed then she fled to the sitting room.

On the second count, the pastors is said to have visited the complainant's residence for prayers whilst her mother was not at home.

The court heard that the girl discovered pastor Majoni sitting on her mother's bed covering himself with some blanket.

She allegedly sat on another bed I the same room and they stared praying. When they stopped, Majoni invited the girl to come and sit next to him and she agreed.

Later Majoni lay on his back and instructed the little girl to to lie on top of him telling her that if she felt "something hard like a lump she should press hard on it," the court was told.

It is alleged that she later told him that she was feeling pain due to his erect organ, which was pressing on, but he allegedly instructed her to press harder.

When he released her, the girl reportedly fled to the sitting room and did not tell anyone at home until she narrated her ordeal to friends at school, who latter spilled the beans leading to the arrest of the clergyman.
