A WOMAN had to pay for nature's sins when her husband failed to swallow the fact that he had to miss the pleasures of the fruit of nature because of her being in "that time of the month."

The man Saziso Ndlovu of Phakama surburb in Gwanda did not understand why his woman refused to be intimate with him when she was menstruating.

It is reported that Ndlovu became mad and started demanding what he claimed to be rightfully his from the wife, but his plea fell on deaf ears with the wife saying she had a heavy flow therefore could not satisfy his sexual appetite.

Ndlovu failed to buy his wife's story and insisted that he wanted it.

The woman refused to get in between the sheets with him and Ndlovu started insulting and calling her names, but all that did not change anything.

Realising that he was not winning, Ndlovu then started beating up his wife with open hands and fists.

Ndlovu made the revelations when he was hauled before Gwanda magistrate Toindepi Zhou and he pleaded guilty to the charges of physical abuse.

Ndlovu told the court that it was difficult for him to accept that he was being denied access to his 'property' despite the fact that he told his wife that he did not mind her being on periods.

He revealed that he had been away for two months and when he left, his wife was menstruating so he went away without making love to her. He added that on his return he was expecting fireworks only to get the same story.

The magistrate sentenced him to three months imprisonment which were wholly suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar offence within a period of five years. Mncedisi Dube appeared for the state.
