Under fire Higher Education minister Jonathan Moyo has described as mischievous fraud allegations levelled against him saying Zimdef has long history of funding corporate social responsibility issues.

He said the Zimdef funds he abused were channelled 'to fulfil national duties'.

"It is important for those interested in ZIMDEF's skills development to understand that skills development is not only about classroom or on the job training but also, and even more important, about the promotion of requisite societal attitudes, values and aspirations that underpin and drive human capital development,"  Moyo told   a graduation ceremony of 275 primary school teachers at Madziwa Teachers College.

A report by the Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission indicate that a whistleblower sold him out.

Moyo  is accused of benefitting from close to $270 000 which was corruptly syphoned out of Zimdef by ministry and fund official.

Part of the money was used to procure bicycles for chiefs in Tsholotsho.

At the weekend Moyo admitted to embezzling the funds but said he channelled them towards a national event.
