A man from Richmond in Bulawayo is languishing in remand prison after he allegedly killed and robbed a resident of his mobile phones.

Richard Moyo was not asked to plead to murder and robbery when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.

He was remanded in custody to 15 December 2016.

The court was told that on the night of October 19 2014 the now deceased Change Shumba was walking along Fort Street towards Masotsha Ndlovu Avenue to his home when Moyo and his accomplices who are still at large allegedly pounced on him.

They hit him on the back of the head with an unidentified object. He fell to the ground and they searched and took his mobile phone before leaving him for dead.

Shumba was found by passersby who took him to Mpilo Hospital and he died in hospital on October 30 2014.

Investigations done led to Moyo's arrest while his alleged accomplice are still at large.
