'Bond notes a project meant to promote big guns'

Former Bulilima East legislator Norman Mpofu has conde,mned the bond notes which the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe plans to introduce end of this month as a project to enhance big guns' manifestation of wealth at the same time it will suffocate the poor and render them tpotally helpless.

"From the look of it will affect the ordinary citizens. Big guns are migrating to master cards and are withdrawing money out of the country. This is money for the poor. Our leaders are going ahead with this project despite wise counsel availed to them because they know they are cushioned. They deposit money locally but will withdraw it out side the country. Similar to local schools and hospitals this bond nonsense will only affect the poor," Mpofu said.

"The poor will Will b hard hit. They will fail even to smuggle in cheap commodities making smuggling a preserve for the rich who will have access to the US Dollar and come back and sale commodities in the black market. I believe these guys have done their home work and are ready to clean the citizen of their money in exchange for bonds."
