Girl throws cousin (2) into a well

A 15-year-old girl from Kunzwa Village under Chief Nyashanu in Buhera will be examined for mental illness after she threw her one-year and eight months cousin into a well.

 The accused who will not be named because of her age appeared before Buhera Magistrate Henry Sande facing attempted murder charges.

The girl then closed the 13-metre deep well with an iron sheet, placed a huge stone on top and went away.

When asked why she did that, she told the court that there were evil spirits that pushed.

The child was rescued after her mother who was now looking for her, heard a muffled voice coming from the well.
