A First Mutual agent is in trouble after he allegedly swindled the money paid by the Insurance company's client for funeral and School fees policies.

Ephias Chibinyani (60) was not asked to plead to the fraud charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.

The matter was further remanded for trial.

The court heard that on September 26 this year the First Mutual received a complaint from its client Austin Munyangiri that he had been paying his monthly premiums to accused but did not receive receipts.

He also said he had been paying for his children's fees since February 2015 to October 2016 and never received receipts.

An audit was conducted at the company and it was established that the accused was not issuing receipts to about three clients after they paid for their policies and a report was made to the police leading to his arrest.

The accused could not account for $1067.
