People respond to Mbuya Nehanda the prophet of Satan by Dudu Masaiti.

A very impressive article. You have ruffled many feathers and many people whose lives have been based on her fallacy will be angry indeed. You are a brave man indeed a prophet of Satan she was. Evrything around her bordered and still borders around death. And you raise a serious point about the liberation struggle. It is estimated that 25 000 people died during the struggle. 23 000 of those were black and were killed by blacks. and less than 1000 whites died. Black teachers, businessmen, nurses, doctors and innocent villagers were killed by the guerillas after being labelled sellouts. The Nehanda spirit has continued up to day and is ever invoked when it comes to violence. Last but not least it was at a secret shrine that almost everyone in Mashonaland knows that they consulted before Gukurahundi.

Mbuya Nehanda led ZANLA /ZANU to conquer the oppressive regime of Ian Smith, led them to rape and kill innocent Ndebeles during Gukurahundi, led them to kill innocent Mbare residents and MDC suppoters country wide, led them to completely bring the countries economy to its knees oh what an angel but whose angel was she.

Dudu Masiti is welcome to his/her ideas (I'm not sure whether the writer is feminine or masculine here). However, I must point out to him/her that shrines are not always put up to eulogize those individuals who have great excelled in their works of doing good. In South Africa, for instance, they have apartheid museums which house some of those equipment used by the Botha regime to separate and oppress people. I believe that what Nehanda did during the late 19th century is very laudable. Remember the fame of great people can always be hijacked, used, abused and confused by the hijackers. In your aberration of the present leaders and the system of government they are practising you seem to want to tarnish all and sundry, but that is not for me to judge. Like I said at the beginning you are welcome to your ideas.

I fail to understand this article at all, I think writers must learn to separate issues, to say Nehanda was a prophet of Satan because what Zanu Pf did or is doing is in my opinion myopic and illogical and to a larger extent lack of vision in one's history and identity. If in our midst before the christian colonisation we had our own prophets we can demonise them unless we don't understand religion. It makes me wonder why Africans including Zimbabweans can not question conventional religions which are impossed on them. Does this writer know how man thousands of people were killed by the disciples of these your holy religions, read wide and you will tell us who is more evil. Don't be fooled by thy kingdom come. If Zanu pf is evil minded don't use that to discredit Nehanda those issues can not be laterally related.

Hauna nyaya muninyina. Just because they say they were sent by Mbuya Nehanda does not mean they were sent by Mbuya Nehanda. Did yu ascetain that there was indeed comms between Mbuya Nehanda and the ZANLA soldiers? If someone comes out claiming they were sent by Lobengula's spirit to kill shonas, does that make it true? How then does Mbuya Nehanda become Satanic. I have no doubt about your IQ sir, sorry to say.

I am surprised at some people can reveal their foolish wirth ease. Nehanda was hanged in 1898, well well before ZANLA was formed. So where is theh link between her and ZANLA. How can one prove that trhe spirit of Mbuya Nehanda was responsible for actions taken by individuals a century after her death.
