A 27 year old Mvurwi man is battling for life after he was electrocuted by a live Zesa cable on Sunday.

Eye witnesses said Peter Masunga of Blanco farm in Mvurwi touched an electricity cable that was laying on the ground to try and see if it was live or not.

"There was an argument between Masunga and his friend on ZESA cable that was lying on the ground the friend warned Masunga on high voltage contained by the cable but he wanted to prove him wrong by touching and he was roasted. Everyone thought he was dead," explained the source.

The relative added: "After the incident we filed a sudden death police report but we were later proved wrong at Mvurwi hospital since he is alive though in agony."

Masunga was then referred to Parirenyatwa for better treatment but but his relatives took him to Karanda hospital citing cash crises.

Mashonaland central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe could not be reached for comment up to the time of this writing.
