Pepsi $30 million deal in limbo

Indian Multinational food giant Varun Beverages (Varun)'s $30 million Pepsi plant in Zimbabwe is in limbo due to the government's bureaucracy and red tape.

Zimbabwe is not new in creating controversies with Indian business people after the country recently frustrated a $750 million Essar deal that was aimed at reviving Ziscosteel due to government bungling.

People familiar with Pepsi transaction said Ravi Jaipuria one of India's wealthiest individuals was frustrated with bureaucratic hurdles which appeared to stall the project.
