Disgruntled war veterans who are complaining of being systematically
elbowed out of Zanu PF are seeking another face to face crunch meeting
with President Robert Mugabe.
The liberation fighters said they seek closure with Mugabe on a string of issues affecting their relationship with Zanu PF.
Said their association spokesman, Douglas Mahiya, "The President must come to us without any intermediaries.
"We want to talk together and we want to agree or disagree. We seek closure.
"If we are to part ways forever, then so be it" Mahiya is quoted saying.
He added, "We want to sit down with him so that we understand where the compasses have gone wrong,".
Relations between the two groups have been frosty this year, with the liberation fighters openly telling Mugabe (92) to step down.
They vowed not to campaign for him during 2018 elections.
This week, the ex-combatants disclosed their planned boycott of Zanu PF annual December conference in Masvingo next week.
They said only fake war veterans would attend.
