In what a family in Mpopoma suspect to be a scandal by unscrupulous elements to identify dead people's properties and clandestinely sell them, the father of the family Patrick Nyama Sibanda who died 33 years ago is still receiving letters from a strange organization.
The unfolding developments are baffling the late man's family who think their late father's names are being used by criminals to loot properties in the city.
"My father died 33 years ago but it is strange that we continue to receive some letters from not clearly identified organization at times inviting him to some funny board members meetings," said the man's son who preferred anonymity.
He said the letters do not even state the names of the organization in which his father was a member.
Latest letter dated November 8 2016 signed by one R Mthembo a board member administration addressed to shareholders of an unstated organisation was notifying shareholders for a meeting held on December 4 2016 at Mpopoma Hall in the suburb of Mpopoma. The letter states that the meeting was starting at 9am with accreditation, reading of minutes, financial statement and business of the day.
The man's son said they have been unable to attend those meetings because they are not advised of it as a family but they are baffled by the fact that their father who has been late for so long would continue to receive letters from strange organizations.
He said this letter was not the only one bearing his father's names as in July they received an article from Post Office addressed to his father. He said the article was from Splinter Academy and they could not be allowed to collect it because they were not the real recipients.
The man's son also said their neighbour at Mpopoma who has a late father was also receiving similar letters and it was strange why would the genuine organisations not know that their members are late. He called for serious investigation suspecting that a big scandal might be happening.
