Maid (16) sexually abuse three-year-old boy

A Harare maid (16) who allegedly abused her employer's three-year-old boy, who was later found with sores on his private parts, has been brought to court.

Edith Masawi, was last week brought before a Harare magistrate court on aggravated indecent assault charges.

It is alleged, on December 3 this year, the boy's mother noticed that the boy was having problems in walking.

She took him aside and asked him what had happened to him. At first the court heard the boy was reluctant to disclose what had happened to him.

He later opened up and told his grandmother that Masawi had injured him. He said this while pointing at his private part.

The grandmother made an enquiry and discovered that the boy had sores on his private part.

She reported the matter to the police leading to the maid's arrest. She will be back in court on January 20 next year for trial.
