The Export Import Bank of India has narrowed down to four the list of bidders vying to repower the 69 year old Bulawayo Power Station.
The project was supposed to kick off early this year but was deferred after the Indian bank, which extended a US$87 million line of credit to Zimbabwe for the project and the Zimbabwe Power Company, a unit of Zesa Holdings agreed that the tender be floated in India.
Consequently more than 10 Indian companies initially expressed interest to refurbish the Bulawayo Power Station which requires about US$120 million.
