Woman in trouble for torturing step sons (4) and (9)

A woman from Ntabazinduna in Matabeleland South is in trouble after he allegedly tortured her two step sons aged 4 and 9 and forced them to do hard labour.
Praxedis Banda was not asked to plead to the charge of child abuse when she a[appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Batanai Tuwe. She was remanded out of custody to January 10 2017.
The child is doing grade 4 at a local school and it is alleged that between January 2 2016 to June 31 the same year Banda assaulted her son several times all over the body and made him fetch water with a wheelbarrow loaded with 20 litre buckets and four X 5litre gallons. The boy was born with cracked hands .
Banda also during the same period tortured a 4 year old stepson using a switch all over the body and twisted his ears several times saying he must not play at their neighbour's home. The matter was reported to the police by concerned neighbours and child protection committee. This led to her arrest.
