Yet another suspected cyanide poisoning has killed 14 cattle at Plot Number 7 in Mutasa district.
Plans to contribute towards the development of the national herd suffered a huge blow for Mr Fungai Munyama, a small scale farmer after his 14 cattle died after grazing on pastures suspected to be contaminated by cyanide.
Mr Munyama is blaming the owners of the Gondo Gold Mining Mill, for failing to take measures to avoid the overflow of residual cyanide from the mine premises onto the pastures.
A Mr Charera who superintends over the cyanide dump accepted it is the mills' responsibility but blamed the heavy rains for the spill over into pastures.
The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) has since taken water samples from the mine for laboratory analysis to establish the levels of residual cyanide in the water and pastures.
EMA is urging mines to put up protective measures at their mine plants to avoid continued loss of livestock and other animals.
