A 26-year-old man from Mafusire Village under Chief Chiweshe in Mashonaland Central was arrested for allegedly killing his neighbour in cold blood.

"The incident occurred on December 11 around 2 am at the village.
"During this day the community had gathered at a traditional ceremony.
"Chizora and his wife Priscilla Rusere (22) together with the late Mafusire were part of the group of people who were at the traditional ceremony," said Asst Insp Masikati.
Rusere is reported to have left the ceremony at around 1:30am going home.

Shortly afterwards Mafusire sneaked from the ceremony and followed Chizora's wife.
On arrival at Chizora's homestead, he went to the bedroom where Rusere was.
It is at this time that Chizora arrived and saw his wife in the company of Mafusire in their matrimonial bedroom.
A fight erupted between Chizora and Mafusire and the two scuffled until they got outside the house.
Chizora overpowered Mafusire who was drunk and he fell down.
Chizora allegedly picked a stone and pummelled Mafusire all over the body.
Mafusire sustained fractured legs, deep cuts and lost his front upper teeth.

A report was made at Centenary Police Station leading to the arrest of Chizora.
Asst Insp Masikati urged members of the public to have respect for human life.
"People should not to take the law into their hands and if angered they should go to the police where public relations officers will assist them to resolve issues amicably or they should tell their community leaders," he said.
