Man fined after axing friend over chicken on Christmas day

Robertson man who struck his best friend with an axe on Christmas day over a chicken dispute was lucky to be fined by Guruve magistrate yesterday (Wednesday).
Mathew Chitsiga from Robertson farm Mashonaland Central was slapped with US$100 fine or 30 days in prison by Guruve magistrate Antony Sanyatwi for assaulting his best friend over a road runner chicken.
It was the state case that on 25 December Mathew Chitsiga were having a beer drink at a shebeen when the two had a fight over a road runner chicken dispute prompting Chitsiga to axe his friend.
Chitsiga paid the US$100 fine while the latter was warned and cautioned.
