Zimbabwe moves to plug tax leakages

Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa has put in place a December 31, 2017 deadline for local companies to link fiscal devices to the Zimra server as the cash strapped government moves to plug leakages in the revenue collection cycle.

All businesses that fail to meet the deadline will get a $25 per day penalty.

Most of the devices that were approved at the commencement of the fiscalisation programme in 2010 are now outdated.
