ZEC ready for Bikita West by-election

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission says it is ready for the Bikita West by-election scheduled for Saturday the 21st of January.
Six candidates are vying for the position to represent the constituency in parliament which fell vacant after the incarceration of Munyaradzi Kereke.
The Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission Justice Rita Makarau says all is set for the Bikita West constituency by-election.
Justice Makarau revealed that about 18 800 people have registered for the by-election.
She added that the organisation is in the process of procuring equipment for the biometric voting system which will be used in the 2018 general elections.
ZEC revealed that it has flighted tenders for eligible people to supply the equipment.
The bio metric voting system is said to be the best in achieving international best practises for voting.
