Shonas are Not Complicit- analyst

A political commentator Petros Joseph Dube has said majority of Shona people who now experienced a holistic blame for the Gukurahundi killings that happened in Matabeleland and Midlands were not accomplices in the Zanu PF government's hernias act.
Over 20 000 people in the two provinces were killed by the fifth briogade soldiers in the 1980s during Gukurahundi after the government deployed soldiers to fight dissidents believed to be Zipra renegades.
"I have on numerous occasions seen many Ndebeles blaming Shonas for Gukurahundi, I at some point did that," Dube said.
"However after speaking to a number of eyewitnesses to this massacre I realised that many ordinary residents of Mashonaland or Matabeleland were not even aware that people were being killed and even those who were by chance aware were told that the then government was crushing dissidents."
I hope we have learnt something from that sad chapter of our history. We shouldn't believe anything on the media without verifying authenticity thereof.
