Government launches the National Health Strategy for 2016-2020

The Government of Zimbabwe, through the Ministry of Health and Child Care has today launched the National Health Strategy for 2016-2020 to respond to the burden of disease, and to strengthen national health systems.

Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr. David P. Parirenyatwa, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Mr. Bishow Parajuli, and World Health Organisation Representative, Dr. David Okello participated in the launch.

The Launching of the National Health Strategy 2016-2020 alongside the Essential Health Benefits Package and WHO/GOZ Country Cooperation Strategy wil;l also take place on     Wednesday 25th January, 2017 at 9am at   Murehwa District Hospital.
 
"The Strategy is being launched alongside two supporting documents, the Essentials Health Benefits Package, and the Country Cooperation Strategy with the World Health Organisation (WHO)," reads the statement by government.

The government said transport will be available for the media interested in covering this event for Wednesday.
