The cabinet decision to stop the illegal operations of dubious traditional healers better known as 'Tsikamutandas' still stands and traditional leaders and law enforcement agency have been urged to take decisive action and stop the menace.

This was revealed by the Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Dr Chris Mushohwe in Marange.

In an interview on the sidelines of the welcome ceremony of United Methodist Church Reverend Mathias Marinyame who is now leading the Mt Makomwe circuit in Marange, Dr Mushohwe said the government's decision to ban illegal operations of dubious self style traditional healers known as 'Tsikamutandas' still stands.

His remarks comes at a time when the Tsikamutandas have reportedly resurfaced in Marange area fleecing rural villagers of their lifetime investment.

Dr Mushohwe said cabinet took a strong position to stop the Tsikamutandas' menace in rural villagers and that the Ministry of Rural Development, Promotion and Preservation of National Culture and Heritage in collaboration with the police should work together to stop the practice and restore order and sanity.

He said it is disappointing to note that some traditional leaders are assisting the dubious traditional healers in return for bribes in the form of cash and livestock.

Minister Mushohwe urged the men of the cloth to speak against such practices and preach the true word of God.

He said the Ministry of Rural Development in collaboration with the police should decisively take and implement the government position and end outright corruption and day light robbery being orchestrated by the Tsikamutandas.

Dubious traditional healers better known as Tsikamutandas are fleecing rural communities of their hard earned cash and livestock as payment for removal of goblins and snakes among other issues.

A call was made upon all citizens who have fallen victim to the witch hunting practice to report the evil practice to the police and law enforcement agents with the view to bringing to book the perpetrators and ensure that all who lost who lost their livestock, money and other valuables be returned.
