Victory for ZCTU As High Court Declares Matombo Illegitimate

The High Court has brought to finality the case where the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) sought to bar Lovemore Matombo and his group from using the ZCTU name, logo, letterheads and setting up parallel structures.
The High Court ordered that the grouping stop forthwith using the ZCTU name as this was creating confusion and also barred the group from holding their purported 'Congress' as a legitimate Congress was held on 19 and 20 August 2011.
According ZCTU this is a victory for the working people of Zimbabwe as these bogus union leaders were taking ordinary membership for granted.
ZCTU said this move will allow the trade union to concentrate on more important activities meant to uplift the workers.
