Zimbabwe National Students Union has said it is confident of a bright future amid claims the collapse of the regime which caused a lot of suffering to the people is possible soon.
In a statement ZINASU said as activists and human rights foot soldiers are busy lamenting on 21 days of activism in Zimbabwe, the students fraternity is in solidarity and in line with the nation, condemning the deliberate abrogation of the constitution specifically Chapter 4 rights which amongst them captures the Right to education and all other first and second generation rights.
"As ZINASU we are confident of our future and sure of our purpose, however the future and the purpose is being put on ransom by a diabolic and wanabe dictatorship that deliberately choose to make the right to education a triviality by charging exorbitant semesterial fines, imposition of attachment fines and gripping on other rights which are pre-requisites for he right for instance the right to freedom of expression," reads the statement.
"21 days of activism comes at a time when the nation is watching with grief and obfuscation to the ruling party's propensity to consume and lack of priority policy package evidenced by an impending birthday bash which will see 2 million American dollars being crushed in a period of 8 hours ie to say guzzling $250 000 per hour or further broken $4 166,67 per minute,God help us this is inhumane in a country where 2 570 students formally. differed from their studies over the past 4 months and double the number is anticipated this year(2017). Its a pity and regrettable ,as students we are crying the death of democracy, accountability and most importantly the erosion of academic rights. As Zinasu we also remind the Minister of Higher and Tertiary education to pay back the money that he abused in the previous academic year.We shall be pushing up until our demands are met and achieved through engagement of all kinds."
