A political commentator Vince Musewe has said the sitting government can no longer manage the day to day affairs of the nation hence it must step down for the capable people.

Musewe said it is inevitable that our country moves from the status quo to a better place.

"This is not only a political imperative but a socio-economic one as well. Zimbabwe is a confirmed failed State where a sitting government can no longer manage the day to day affairs of the country. This requires that we declare a national state of social and economic emergency," he said.

"To recover we need an immediate injection of at least usd5bn but this cannot be managed by the current regime. That is why some sort of transition body is required and this body must not be partisan. Waiting till Zanu PF administered elections in 2018 will not solve the pressing social and economic problems we face because there is nothing new that is coming our way. The Us$5  billion can be used first to increase liquidity in the banking sector, to ensure food security through agricultural revival and deal with social issues such as health and water issues."

He said it can sort out critical infrastructure and invest in the export sector to increase export revenues.

"A turn around cam be very quick but clearly first there is no acceptance of the urgency of change with Zanu PF and second there there is a wait and see attitude by potential international development partners because there is peace. We really can't wait till 2018 because there is nothing coming and we need immediate change today not tomorrow," he said.
