A
political analyst Vince Musewe has said whether people want or not
indications show that MDC-T remains the most popular opposition
political party in Zimbabwe since independence in 1980.
"Whether we like it or not MDCT remains the most popular opposition political party in Zimbabwe today, sooner we all admit that the better. You cannot talk these blind loyal MDC T supporters out they are stuck in a mental bubble. What we need to look at is how can we all pursue one vision which is the removal of this dictatorship and it's systems," Musewe said.
"A win for opposition in 2018 will be a tall order because they have to implement radical reforms both on the political and economic fronts. They may have to reform themselves out of power in 2023. This is the reality that most are not thinking about now. My advice is that an inclusive transition team be established to manage the affairs of the country post 2018."
Musewe said now the issue at hand is whether opposition can win in 2018 or whenever next elections are held.
"I note a significant number of MDC-T think they can go it alone. What about Presidential elections?? These can be 's split vote which can return a Zanu PF President. That is the only post that really matters and it cannot come with numbers alone but with reforms to ensure elections are run in a conducive environment. Blind loyalty will not work here. Strategy is critical," he said.
