Man appears in court for attacking a sex worker

THE man, who grabbed headlines after he attacked a suspected sex worker in Harare's Avenues area, Monday appeared in court.

Given Nkomo, who is also known as Skywalker in the Avenues area, appeared at the Harare magistrates' court charged with assault.

He is standing accused of battering and injuring Nyasha Chinyanga who resides at Wichford Court at the corner of 8th Street and Hebert Chitepo.

Circumstances leading to his arrest were that on February 11 Given had a misunderstanding with Nyasha's friend over a hat.

Reports are that Given picked a brick and attacked Nyasha on her head and floored her in the process.

As if that was not enough, Given is alleged to have descended on Nyasha with fists.

He also allegedly picked an unknown object and stabbed Nyasha on the head leaving her bleeding.

The 23-year-old suspected thigh vendor went to lodge a complaint with the police leading to Given's arrest.

He was then taken to court charged with assault.
