A woman from an unnamed apostolic sect last week dragged her sibling to court for allegedly claiming she was a witch before threatening to bash and injure her.

Moster Gombochuma, who hauled her sister Senzeni, who is also a member of the apostolic sect, to court, said she was living in fear of her sister's violent behaviour.

Moster, who was seeking protection order against Senzeni, told the court that her sibling was in the habit of threatening to bash her to a pulp and called her all sorts of names.

"She threatens to come and beat me with some members from her church claiming I told her that the church was full of prostitutes.

"She maliciously creates false stories, she came and urged my landlord to chase me away saying I had an extra marital affair with her husband," said Moster.

"I try to ignore her but even when she is passing by my house she always shout insulting words and at times sends her children to throw stones at me,' she added.

In response, Senzeni refuted the charges claiming that it was Moster who abused her calling her a witch.

"On the 7th of October last year, her Child was sick and she came to insult me saying I was a witch.

"At one time she came in the morning and entered my bedroom and started shouting at my husband that he had married a witch and that we were not sleeping at night bewitching her child," said Senzeni.

"I only went to her place with my church congregants to inquire which of the prophetesses had told her that I was a witch," said Senzeni.

Moster was granted the protection order she sought by magistrate Sharon Rakafa who presided over the matter.
