Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) Secretary General Japhet Moyo has said for the past 36 years the dictator regime of President Robert Mugabe has cause a lot of suffering for the people making them lose all their hopes of ever enjoying life in their own country.
"Do i need anyone to tell me that i am suffering when i can not regularly receive my salary, when i can not access the few dollars my employer deposit in my account, when i risk loosing my pension with the introduction of the so called bond notes( after having already lost 20yrs of savings during the hyper inflation) , when my kids are part of the ever growing informal economy where a lot of work is done for almost nothing in return," Moyo said.
"The issues are too many to mention and again i do not need anyone to tell me that if an opportunity present itself then i should change the current administration in the country. It is so painful that a nation can be kept captive by those who claim to have liberated the same nation."
He said how those tasked with the responsibility to administer on behalf of the citizens decides to destroy the economy by implementation scorch earth policies, disempower the citizens to an extent that citizens would survive on patronage, hand outs in return for votes.
"Cry my beloved country," he said.
