PDP President Tendai Biti's homestead in Murewa was on Sunday night razed to the ground in a suspected arson attack.

Although no-one was injured in the arson attack, all the property at the homestead was destroyed.

A report has since been made to the police but no arrests have been made.  As the People's Democratic Party (PDP), we strongly suspect that political thugs in Zanu PF are behind the attack.

The arson attack comes less than a week after President Biti warned to give Zanu PF and its President Robert Mugabe a run for their money.

There have also been threats to President Biti in recent years.  While serving as the Finance Minister during the inclusive period, President Biti received a live bullet wrapped in envelope while his Harare home was also petrol bombed although no arrests were made.

However, despite these attempts on the life of the PDP leader, President Biti and the entire PDP family remain unshaken and resolute as we prepared for the watershed 2018 elections.
