Tsholotsho men returned to their villages to be airlifted again

The Department of Civil Protection has completed airlifting the flood victims who had been marooned at Mahlaba and Sipepa villages in Tsholotsho.
According to ZBC News, the Air Force of Zimbabwe helicopter has left the district after it was discovered that some men who had been airlifted would return to their villages to be airlifted again.
This has seen the number of people being accommodated at Sipepa camp rising to 855.
At least 177 households which include 8 people with disabilities, 86 with chronic diseases, 85 elderly and 147 children under the age of five.
At least 501 school children were also affected and their teachers have been taken to Sipepa to conduct lessons from temporary shelters that have been set up there.
Several tents and temporary toilets have also been set up.
The Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Saviour Kasukuwere, the Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Prisca Mupfumira, the Minister of Health and Child Care Dr David Parirenyatwa and the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Dr Lazurus Dokora are expected in the district this Friday to assess the extent of the damage.
