Muzarabani South constituency has embarked on a pilot project to revive livestock production, with the local legislator handing over goats, pigs and a herd of cattle, to women and youth in the constituency.

Women and youths from Muzarabani South constituency celebrated the birth of Jesus in style as they received goats, pigs and cattle from their local lawmaker, Edward Raradza to kick start their own livestock projects.

Edward Raradza said he has launched the pilot project in line with President Robert Mugabe's desire to empower youths and women at household level.

The Minister of Small to Medium Enterprises and Cooperative Development, Cde Sithembiso Nyoni who also attended the handover ceremony, commended Cde Raradza and urged other legislators to emulate the initiative to uplift the rural folk in their respective constituencies.

Under the pilot project, Cde Raradza handed over 150 goats, 16 pigs and a herd of 30 cattle to several women and youths as part of efforts to revive livestock production in the country.
