FORMER senior women's national team coach Shadreck Mlauzi has returned the vehicle he had been using during his tenure putting to rest speculation he would hold onto it until he is paid his dues.

Mlauzi handed over the car to Zifa officials at their Bulawayo offices on Friday, taking a cue from former senior national team coach, Kalisto Pasuwa who left the vehicle he had been using at Zifa's Harare offices earlier in the week.

The coaches had been handed the vehicles by Zifa benefactor, Wicknelll Chivayo.

Zifa communications manager, Xolisani Gwesela confirmed the country's football body is now in possession of the two vehicles. After relieving the two coaches of their duties Zifa instructed them to surrender the vehicles, Toyota Hilux models.

Mlauzi had earlier indicated he would be keeping the car until all money owed to him was paid but Zifa denied having a contract with the former Inline Academy coach.

The physical education teacher has reportedly dragged Zifa to court for unfair dismissal and to recover money due to him.

According to B-Metro Mlauzi instructed his lawyer Prince Butshe Dube of Mathonsi Ncube Legal Practitioners to file the lawsuit against Zifa. Mlauzi who defied odds and qualified for last year's Rio Olympics was dismissed by the football association at the recommendation of the High Performance Committee.

The coach reportedly wants Zifa to compensate him for non-payment of salaries since he took over the Mighty Warriors in September 2015, camping allowances when the team played in the Olympics and Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mlauzi is also seeking match fees when the team played in Brazil and Cameroon respectively in the two major tournaments as well as foreign camping fees. Mlauzi wants compensation for unlawful termination of his contract despite the fact it was not signed on paper.

Mlauzi argues that even if he did not have a signed contract with Zifa he is entitled to compensation as a contract remains binding whether it was entered into verbally or tacitly. A tacit agreement is described as one that is inferred or entered into without being expressly stated.
