Zimbabweans under black colonial system after removing white colonialists

The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions Secretary General Japhet Moyo has lamented that 36 years after independence from the white colonial rule Zimbabweans have found them-self under a similar colonial system this time under the block colonialists
"When Zimbabweans were fighting for their independence from the minority white dominance and racist regime which had over years deprived the black majority land, opportunities and political freedoms, they fought under very difficult conditions," Moyo said.
"They faced a highly machanised army, police and intelligence units with much resources in their disposal. The media called us names like terrorist and supported the status quo. The playing field was completely skewed in favour of the regime in both law and practice in the sense that our political structures were banned which became the main reason for us to wage an armed struggle."
He said because people were fighting a just cause they prevailed against all odds.
"We forced a well resourced system to negotiate on our terms. Three decades after that memorious occasion when we celebrated what appeared to be the end of an evil system, Zimbabweans found themselves again in very similar situation, this time trying to free themselves from another more sophisticated but evil system again," Moyo said.
"While this time a semblance of normalcy exist in the sense that Zimbabweans have the right to read independent papers and form political parties of their choice, the playing field to enjoy those rights is highly skewed in favour of those who control the media, the army, police and intelligence units and they use these institutions against innocent Zimbabweans who are still trying to free themselves again from another evil system."
Moyo said the white minority regime did not offer to leave political office, but they were forced to do so through the ballot.
"In the same vein the system in power would not reform to make way for the masses to enjoy their freedoms, it has to forced out and just like in 1980 when we voted in our millions to remove it. This time Zimbabweans can redeem themselves without any bloodshed by simply registering to vote and cast their vote come 2018. These are purely my personal views written on my personal Facebook wall," he said.
