Cops throwing spikes risk jail

Legal experts have said police officers who use spikes to stop motorists on road blocks, risk up to 10 years in jail according to Chapter IV, Section 38 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform Act).  

Lawyer Kudzayi Kadzere said the law was unambiguous but enforcement has been full of ambiguity. Police chief Augustine Chihuri however told a Parliamentary committee last week that spikes were lawful and key in instilling discipline on the roads.
