MDC-T MP released from custody

Opposition MDC-T Budiriro member of Parliament Costa Machingauta who was arrested on Sunday while on a door to door mobilisation exercise in his constituency has been released without charge.

The party said in a brief statement that police did not prefer charges on Machingauta.

Machingauta has in the past had several run-ins with police and parliamentary officials.

Last year he was ejected from parliament for violating Parliament's dress code.

Machingauta entered the august House donning a jacket with national flag colours.
