A 24-year old Mvurwi man was remanded in custody by Bindura magistrate for attempting to murder Chief Makope in Mvurwi Mashonaland Central.
The state alleges that Belington Nyamadzao (24) axed Chief Makope (Jacob Mapirinjanja) in Chipanza farm Mvurwi over a tree dispute.
The accused had refused to be summoned to Makope's village court after cutting the tree prompting Makope to forbid him from taking fire wood that he had cut.
