Miner trapped to death in shaft

A 28-year-old man was trapped to death in a gold mine shaft in Guruve, Mashonaland Central last weekend Saturday.
It is alleged Silent Tirivangani of Mangare village under chief Chipuriro in Guruve was fatally trapped in a gold mine shaft at Makara gold mine last Saturday and Guruve police attended the scene.
Makara mine was on the record previously with eight cops suspected to have stolen 600 grams gold ore.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson, Milton Mundembe confirmed the case though he could not furnish the media with full details.
"We got the case of one person who was reported dead in Guruve but l am not in the office currently hence l do not have details to that effect," said Mundembe.
Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports brought to Guruve police said three people had been trapped to death but the police managed to identify one person.
