A WOMAN who is demanding that her ex-husband pays lobola for her the second time before they reconcile approached the civil court this week.
Nomaze Ndlovu sought a protection order against her estranged husband Humphrey Clinton before Harare magistrate Sharon Rakafa.
Ndlovu told the court that she had separated with her husband in October 2014 because he harassed her.
"When he came back to me in 2015 for us to reconcile I told him that could only be possible if he paid lobola again to my parents.
He had to marry me again and even got mentally disturbed because he began threatening that he would kill me if I did not accept him back
Clinton's lawyer submitted that he was surprised Ndlovu had made an application over allegations that dated as far back as 2014.
"These allegations date back to 2014. It is clear that there is no harm on the applicant as of present.
"The application must be dismissed as it lacks the requirements set by that law.
Rakafa quizzed Ndlovu if there were current acts of abuse perpetrated by Clinton but she responded that he had since left the country without fulfilling his promise of marrying her again.
"The behaviour reported date back to 2014 and a protection order is only granted where there is repeated or a pattern of violent behaviour reported. In this case the respondent is actually out of the country and the application is dismissed," Rakafa ruled.
Ndlovu remained starring at the magistrate after she was dismissed and later said "You know what God will not bless you, your worship" before she bolted out of the court room.
