A legislator for Chipinge Central in Manicaland , Raymore Machingura has challenged the institution of higher learning to facilitate the students'
attachment to proper practical skills learning in accordance with their programmes.
He made the remarks during the tour of universities organised by Zimdef by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development.
Machingura one of the members of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development said during the assessment, he noted that students must be put in real life attachment.
"Why not embark on such a thing where students are put in the correct field to work on. Why don't students for example on construction who do road construction , bridge construction go and work in that field?
"For example, people are paid billions of money who fix roads and in a short period of time , the roads are worn out and the same people are
called again to come and fix the roads as practical work go and repair roads.
We will continue to lose money and our role is to add value into this vision of the country and into the future , " he said.
