Maize thieves forced to eat raw cobes

Citizens arrest was effected on Two suspected maize thieves in Chiweshe irrigation garden in Chiweshe Mashonaland Central on Friday.
The two thieves were reportedly forced to eat the maize raw as a form of punishment.
In a similar case, another man from Forester Estate stole five cobs and he was in police custody at Mvurwi police yesterday (Friday).
"These thefts are a blow to Command Agriculture who are mandated to return outputs from farming," a farmer told Bulawayo24.com
Back in January, vice president Emerson Mnangagwa warned that every farmer who was part of the scheme will be accountable for the inputs given to them.
