Meteorological Services Department says the wet spell is slowly coming to an end with the country starting to experience cold weather conditions.

This follows a heavy downpour the country received over the past two days with Mashonaland and Manicaland provinces receiving high amounts of rainfall ranging between 87 mm and 35 mm.

Senior meteorologist Tich Zinyemba said the season is gradually moving towards winter and people should start bracing for cold weather patterns accompanied by some light showers.

He indicated that the country will start experiencing cold, windy and drizzle conditions from Sunday onwards.

The department said they continue to urge people to take reasonable precautions to protect themselves from these adverse weather conditions.

In 2016, the Southern Africa Regional Outlook Forum predicted that Southern Africa will receive normal to above normal rains and from the rains received, the predictions were accurate.
