The leader for MDC 99, Job Sikhala is expected to appear in court on Wednesday facing charges of allegedly contravening the Immigration Act.
Sikhala was picked up from his home on Sunday on charges of allegedly contravening Section 36 (1) c of the Immigration Act.
According to Harrison Nkomo, sometime in July 2011 Sikhala allegedly facilitated the entry into the country of a South African national who did not have the relevant and necessary papers.
Sikhala is denying the charge.
Nkomo said: "my client has instructed me to argue in court that he has nothing to do with the case. He says that the South African, 41 years old, was and is not connected to him anyhow. He is questioning how he would assist someone that old to enter the country without papers."
