Dabengwa claims that Mphoko is a mad person

ZAPU president Dr Dumiso Dabengwa has described Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko as "a mad man" adding the ruling party's number two has no authority to speak on the 1980s Gukurahundi atrocities.

According to NewZimbabwe.com, Dabengwa said no one including President Robert Mugabe has the right to talk about exhumation of Gukurahundi victims except ZIPRA veterans.

"He (Mphoko) must be mad," said Dabengwa.

"I do not think anyone, even the President has the power to unilaterally decide to exhume Gukurahundi remains without consulting ZIPRA Veterans Association.

He was referring to Mphoko's recent announcement that government has embarked on a programme to bring finality to the Gukurahundi issue.
