Hubby brings lover home to provoke his wife

A CITY man has been accused of taking his lover to his matrimonial home to provoke his wife and ganging up with the girlfriend to assault the wife.

Esnath Chirawo sought a protection order against her husband Stanely Magada for taking his lover to their matrimonial house and forcing her to leave the house.

"He is my husband and I do not wish to divorce him but the problem is he has brought his girlfriend to my house and he is forcing me to leave so that his girlfriend can stay in my house.

"My husband calls people that I do not know and he forces me to talk to those people.

"He has no respect for me because he came with his girlfriend's property into my house," she said.

Chirawo said Magada had a habit of assaulting her for no reason.

"He once came with his girlfriend and they assaulted me. He just came with his girlfriend without my permission and I am not comfortable with it," she said.

Chirawo told the court that they had been married for a longtime but she has no idea why her husband was behaving in such a manner.

In response, Magada said he had two wives and Chirawo as the first wife was jealous.

He said:

"She is making up stories because she does not like my second wife. I have since allocated a place for my second wife but she still assaults her.

"The woman she is referring to as my girlfriend is my second wife and I want them to live peacefully."

Presiding magistrate Nyasha Marufu granted the order in Chirawu's favour ordering Magada to stop assaulting her.
