Man rapes ex-lover

The trial of a Bulawayo man accused of raping his ex-girlfriend has commenced before a Bulawayo regional magistrate.
The suspect, Kudakwashe Antony Mapwevo of house number 70161-2 New Lobengula is being accused of unlawfully and intentionally assaulting and raping his ex-lover.
It is the state's case that in the period ranging from the 12th to the 19th of January this year, the accused deprived the complainant of freedom of body movement.
It is also alleged that the accused forcefully removed the complainant's clothes and had sex with the her without her consent, thus hurting her emotionally and physically and also leaving her with a bruised lip.
The accused, who is on remand in prison, was further remanded to the 26th of April for continuation of trial when other witnesses will be called in to the witness stand.
